“Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage.” - Brené Brown, Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead
I have found myself in a time of change where I am surrounded by others who are going through very similar experiences. As a photographer, I saw an opportunity to call together a group of women for a shoot to celebrate "where they're at" in life. To come bare it all with me, and something really special happened. I've struggled for the last month to try and convey what happened there, but I think that is the true beauty of it. It wasn't contrived. It was vulnerable and authentic. We all came not knowing what would come of it and each of us gained something different.
I feel so honored to see each one of these women working towards big dreams and wanted this shoot to remind them to stop and appreciate their own version of "now", not next week, not in five years but where they sit currently. For better or for worse. To own the now and have gratitude for what now will not only teach us about who we are but also where we are going. Remember to pause and embrace the current moment of our lives in all its imperfections and to let go what we cannot change.
I am humbled to surrounded by so many incredibly loving, kind, talented, strong, and genuine women, as I am sure many of us can say. I'm always so amazed at our complexities, uniqueness, talents, but most importantly our raw beauty both inside + out.
With grace + gumption,
